10EE front bearing spacer setscrew missing

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the help. I am one of your subscribers, and I have been following your $7000 mistake series on YouTube.

I just saw your last video on the reinstall and noticed how you were able to rotate the preload spacer with only the front bearing out. I understand exactly what you are describing and that will be my path forward.

Thanks again, the videos online have been a great help.

Glad it helped you :)

On my 63' when installing the spindle (new bearings) i failed to get the slot aligned to the screw hole....
I was able to move the spacer (rotate it) with the spindle fully installed (with bearing jam nut loose)
Used a piece of heavy welding rod with a 90* bend at the end inserted through the front sight glass hole.
Used the bend to hook the drain hole and i could rotate the spacer by pulling or pushing on the wire.....Worked for me.
Better to leave the jam nut loose till the screw is fully installed to allow the lead taper on the screw to center the slot...
Cheers Ross
