Phase converter fora 15 HP cnclathe ?

Hello!
I have purchases a CNC lathe that is powered by a 15hp 3phase motor.

I have 2 pony motors to choose from available to me to make a phase converter from.
option 1 20hp
option 2 40hp

My question is : Would the 20 HP pony motor be enough or should I just go ahead and build it out of the 40 HP?

The converter box for the 40 hp is a bit more expensive ...Money is tight.

American Rotary says your RPC should be twice the size of your largest motor.

So it should be at least a 30hp pony motor?

Then the 20hp one I have is out .

Did you end up building your rpc? Look on cl for a 30hp motor if you don't want to use the 40hp. I found my 30hp motor for $85.

Hello.
I built it with the 40 hp one. Just got it turning the other day.
Now I have one leg with to high voltage , so I need to take out a capacitor from that leg I think.

What leg has high voltage? The generated leg?

I need to dig out my notes. I originally had 7 run caps and had to disconnect all3 of them.
