I must compliment your direct and concise method of expressing what could, in the wrong hands, be confusing phenomenon. Way better than I could do it even on a good day. I read with both great interest and awe of your talent.
I believe you will find the skin effect data you mentoined is included on wire labels to accomondate test equipment- without a description of the characteristics of the subject, these devices would be unable to identify and locate discontinuities.
