  • Hey Mtndew,

I follow this forum fairly often to get info as you probably do to. I believe you work with Okuma's and Koma rotaries. I recently bought an M560v and a Koma TWA 200. It appears it does not come with a faceplate. I'm about to get ahold of them to order one but I'm wondering if there's any words of advice for this machinery combo. I realize that's a very vague and open ended question.

We have the 5th axis self centering vise for that machine and would never buy another one. massive jaw lift, holding power is terrible and the jaws aren't very hard, they mushroomed after holding on to 4140 material.

I highly suggest getting the Schunk KSC3-125-160, that's what we bought for our M460 5 axis and it blew me away with it's holding power. We bought from Gosiger for $1500.

Hey, thanks! I do have SuperNurbs option along with the TCP and DWO options as I recall. The machine will be ready for simultaneous 5 axis machining. As for 5th Axis vises, good to know. For the faceplate did you get the one that Koma sells or did you find one with Schunk? I'm trying to figure out what will attach to that trunnion correctly. Koma wants about $1500 for it.

    Best,

If I remember right, we made our own.
