I took a look at this neat old LeBlond lathe at HGR today.
For as old this lathe is, it is in nice shape, not bad at all if you are looking for a lathe with a larger swing. i forgot to see what the maximum RPM of the spindle is, I'm guessing not over 400 RPM.
Here's some pictures of the ways I took today. Ken

I would have hated to be your mom.

"Mom,
I found this really cute round head at HGR.
Can I keep it."
"No honey. We can't keep every lathe out there.
"But Mom, it is 3 phase and everything."
"NO! You can't have another lathe. And I told you about getting way oil all over your shirt. Now go change your shirt and do your homework before supper."
"Ummm, Mom...
What about this Hendy? It has good ways and I think D1-6. It wont eat much power and we can keep it in the garage."
"NO, you can't have another lathe. And I told you I didn't like you playing with those HGR boys. I just don't like their influence on you."
"Ahh Mom..."
"Dont ahh Mom me!
I dont know why you gotta be this way. Look at your bedroom. It is full of Aloris and Dorian stuff and band saw blades and carbide inserts. And I'm afraid to open your closet since all those grinding wheels fell out.
Now go change your shirt and do your homework and stay away from those HGR boys!!"

Damn near close description of my life! But instead of "bedroom" it's the garage!
That was cute, thanks for the write up.

All in fun man.
I'm actually kind of glad the closest HGR is near Milwaukee. A little too far from the Twin Cities here to just go browse.

Well, the Ft Worth location is 5 hours from home. My employer's office is only 20 minutes from their warehouse. So how convenient does that make it?:o I've been to the office five times this year. Guess have many times I've been to HGR. :D:eek:

The only thing stopping me from buying either one of those lathes is transportation and a place to put it. If it wasn't for that, one of them would follow me home!:D
