I just found a older south bend 4 1/2 locally for sale I’m up in Edmonton Alberta . There is no catalog number on the spec plate but does say 4 1/2 length. I’d like to find out what year it is I’m thinking maybe 1940s? Owner says bed ways are in great shape and comes with 3 and 4 jaw chucks , steady rest , drill chuck and live centre looks like and bunch of other odds and ends . A manual doesn’t look original says 10-k .
He’s asking $2500 which seems high but I’m not totally sure ? I want something for my home shop to make the small odd bushing or smaller diameter axles or shafts . I currently use our lathes at work for the odd home project but plan on retiring in 5 years or so and want to be set up at home for the odd small job . Any info would be great and a value . I’ll attach a few pics. Pics are terrible ill try post some better ones
