Mastercam deburing off an stl

Right now I'm redrawing ontop the stl to get my new geometry to get paths. I'm pretty frequently tweaking things that makes the finished part stray from the model.
 
Have you tried to work with Mesh tab?
I haven't so can't suggest you anything in this case
 
Why are you wanting to use the resulting simulated model?
But yes, you can just create a Stock Model mid process, then convert it to a Mesh Model. Use that Mesh to drive your toolpaths. You may need to create curves on edges if thats how you want to drive your deburr.

But still, toolpathing off of that can't be great. Would using the existing model not work?

It's only for deburing it can be awful accuracy. Many times I'm making small adjustments with out changing anything on the drawing.
 
Why not to use chaining on solid?
Solid chaining won't work on a mesh model.
I would suggest trying to use a solid model though. Can you not make a copy of the original and then use model prep functions to adjust. Then, if you do make further adjustments at least the toolpaths are associated to the model and will move with it.

I know, but OP wanted to create curve on the edges, so anyway he wanted to use solid model. I would rather make a copy of original and adjust it as you advised than create stock model. stock model makes file much bigger.
 
Is the edge you need to deburr on a flat plane? If yes then you shouldn't need curves, you should be able to use a z-level path with the STL body then comp it in at the machine.
