I picked this up recently at an auction. I just got around to checking it out. Its a large one 27” x 14” OD. To my surprise it is held together by bolts. Pentagon headed bolts to be exact. Its old. The patent date is June 7 1904. It doesn’t have the B&S logo with the square. Ive had a 541 from the 40’s but it didn’t have bolts. I found another one like it on ebay $299 but it is newer. Anyone ever see one like this before? Is there a reason they used bolts instead of dowels? Any info would be much appreciated. I put it on ebay (because the wife will have a fit if I don’t) but I really don’t want to sell it. Hence the price. I think it looks good on the shelf in my office….
