Here's another tip: If installing large quantities of one particular size of wound-wire screwthread inserts, think about investing in the tooling to install and removing the "tangless" inserts.
The tooling is definitely pricey, but installing inserts is definitely faster and easier. The inserts have drive notches on both ends, and there are no tangs to remove.
The removal tool engages the insert notch of an installed tangless insert, so there's no hammering a removal tool, or messing around trying to bend the insert's wire to create a "removal tang".
AND, simply removing and reinstalling a "locking" insert substantially restores the locking effect. Maybe not "good as new", but quite workable for many applications.
