The FPS 300M is a clone of the Deckel FP1 Aktiv Digital last build model. I bought one of these from FPS, fantastic machine, but very expensive. FPS also sells refurbished FP1s.

Out of curiosity, what's a rough estimate for shipping a machine like that to Los Angeles CA USA?

A Deckel FP1 CIP port of Mobile was €825,- last December
That is the buyer had to pick up the crate at the customs warehouse Or has a transporter do it for you
You also need a crate for about €400,-(actual crating we do for free)
Then I have this note from the broker I like to use who sums it all up

Thanks Peter. I've really appreciate it. So on a $10,000 machine, roughly $1800 w/o crate costs and $2,200 with. That's very helpful.

This Mikron https://veltmanmachines.nl/en/vm/milling-machines/gereedschapfreesbank-mikron-wf2sa-2/ is way nicer than an FP1…and cheaper to boot. (FWIW I’ve owned multiple FP1’s of all generations and currently own the same model Mikron.. which I bought from Veltman years ago ) of course the reason they are cheaper and less popular is Deckel mills have much better support and parts availability. OTOH, the Mikron takes up perhaps a few inches more floor space than Fp1 but is a vastly more impressive mill if you can live with iffy future repair parts, accessories, and/or electronic troubleshooting risks.

Mikron is a fine machine, but really hard to find accessories like the horizontal spindle head, tables, etc to match the features of the FP1. I'd go with a modern Aktiv Digital FP1 over the Mikron, just because one can actually find most of the accessories still.

Yes, the dials are metric...but the DRO can be metric or imperial
